the greater good is like the lesser evil, it doesn't really exist
the words "common good" (greater good) were co-opted by the republic from the very start. it means that which is good for the state, assuming the state is good for the people, which it is not and never was, except for the few who stand to profit from the making of laws. even plato decided it wasn't really a good idea, after the republic was written, and after they killed his teacher.

they call it "liberty"
war is the expenditure of resources, including human lives (the best and the strongest healthy young men), to create debt with which to enslave the masses to the war machine through taxes.
that's the part the history teachers leave out. they don't tell you about how war is the fastest way of transferring the world's wealth from the poor to the rich.
armed conflict isn't the only kind of war that is waged by us, against us and our planet, but it is the showiest and the scariest and is relentlessly marketed to the masses as something "for the greater good"

i said "ow!" and they told me to shut up
(because, #reruns ...again)
i find it impossible to believe that government will ever be able to solve the problems that its existence creates. it's not about hurting your feelings, it's about being lied to for too long.
when we believe lies, it not only hurts ourselves, but it hurts everyone else who hears those lies when we repeat them.
and they repeat those same lies, not knowing how much it hurts, and pretty soon you have fabricated public opinion. mass media only speeds up the process.
i said "ow!" and they told me to shut up, they would rather believe the lies than admit how much they have contributed to perpetuating the pain.
you are responsible for the words you use that hurt. accusing me of hurting you by pointing that out is not fair, but it is symptomatic of the abuses we have all endured living in this society that is based upon control rather than on any kind of real freedom.
now tell me again about this imaginary good government that is gonna come save us from the bad government. do you think i haven't already heard it a thousand times before?
"but this time it's different" .... yeah, we heard that before, too.

merry-go-round
revolution is just spin. it isn't about people changing the system, it's about convincing the people that the very same system would somehow be better if different thugs were in charge.

who gets to decide?
"the common good" refers to that which is good for the state (as per plato's republic). the state is that which governs. but to be governed is the opposite of freedom. is that good?
who gets to decide?

just because
voting is like being forced at gunpoint to choose which rope you want hung with. the courts are just another special interest group, and the game is cheat 'til you win. they don't represent me.

the sound of minds slamming shut (or, cognitive dissonance) revisited
law is a violent institution,
and we expect it to protect us from violence.
("war is peace")
how is that supposed to work?
maybe, if our society is so terribly violent (it is)
and if we want that to change (do we?),
we might need to address the issue in a different way.
from the DOJ:
why should that definition not also apply to institutions of societal control?
and we expect it to protect us from violence.

from the DOJ:
We define domestic violence as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner. Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone.
why should that definition not also apply to institutions of societal control?

hand-me-down blues
government can't possibly solve the problems that it creates. you can't have a small ruling class without oppression. that is how it was designed. corruption is inherent to the system. the only thing different now than when plato laid it all out for us is that we no longer think of that oppression and corruption as something that is good for us, so now they deny the nature of the beast, try to hide it.

big brother's little sister
first shoe landed with a thud and
everyone will act so surprised
like we've never been played
this same way before
when the other shoe falls
...
we don't need a better candidate
a prettier shoe for jackbooted thugs
to stand on our necks with
and blame us for what they do
because the people voted
giving all their power away
along with the right to say no
no! no fucking more! no no no
you are only allowed an obedient
yes
yes we can
pick from the options
and call it a choice

voting is like being forced at gunpoint to choose which rope you want hung with
none of the candidates are ever opposed to war. they don't represent me. when i sent letters, they would only reply to tell me how wrong i am. they don't listen, they never did. and now they don't even pretend to.
***
choosing between two or more options is not the same as making a decision. if no is not an option, you have no choice. voting is just a way of passing the blame around, rather than doing anything meaningful. facebook hid from me all those "go vote" posts. first time their algorithm got it right. but not until after i had already seen them, so i know they are missing.

a distraction
i refuse to apologize
for mentioning the hypocrisy
of the rulers chosen for us
who represent the most vile
corrupt institution of oppression
perhaps that ever there was.
and i refuse to "see reason"
if that means i have to agree
with anything those lying thugs
might have been told to say.
it's all just part of the show
emotional manipulations
mindrape, denied

pete and repeat were sitting on a fence...
(or, reruns)
there never was any separation between church and state. they are symbiotic parasites, neither can exist without the other, and we the people are the host.
the lion and the unicorn
were fighting for the crown
the lion chased the unicorn
clear 'cross the town
some gave them white bread
some gave them brown
some gave them plum-cake
and sent them out of town
such corporate entities aren't even real! they only exist as words on paper, yet they claim authority over every aspect of our lives, through the manufacture and manipulation of fear.

check
if such a thing were even possible
some kind of good government
somebody's gotta prove it...
would have to move the ideology
from one of controlling people
to one that empowers us instead
which would necessarily mean
we would outgrow the need
for government, like thoreau said.
mate.
